HUNTINGDON — Representative Tandy Darby (R-Greenfield) returns to Carroll County Friday, February 13, at 8 a.m. for a "Capitol Talk" at the Carroll County Civic Center. The public is invited to attend.

Darby represents Tennessee House District 76, which encompasses Weakley County and parts of Carroll County (McKenzie, Trezevant, Bruceton and Hollow Rock) and Henry County (Henry, Cottage Grove and Puryear). He was elected into the Tennessee House of Representatives in 2020 and has been a member of the 112th through 114th General Assemblies.

Darby's campaign ran on the following priorities: supporting high-quality education and resources for teachers, keeping Tennessee's taxes low, protecting the Second Amendment, opposing illegal immigration, supporting pro-life policies and supporting policies that benefit farmers in rural Tennessee.

In Nashville, Darby is the Chair of the Banking & Consumer Affairs Subcommittee and a member of the Agriculture & Natural Resources Committee, the Commerce Committee, the Disaster Relief Committee of Extraordinary Session, the Fiscal Review, the Immigration Committee of Extraordinary Session and the Select Committee on Rules.

On the local level, Darby is on Greenfield Banking Company's Board of Directors and First State Bank's Community Bank Board. He is a member of the Greenfield Rotary Club and the National Rifle Association. He has also been a youth coach in various leagues.

Darby is a 1992 Greenfield High School graduate and holds an Ag Business degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin. He is a small business owner, recently receiving the Guardian of Small Business Award from the National Federation of Independent Business.

Darby's visit is the second of three in this year's Capitol Talk series, hosted by the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce. Representative Brock Martin spoke in January about current conversations and bills in the State Capitol. Senator John Stevens concludes the series Friday, March 18.
