Funerary Display Honors Gleason Racing Pioneer

McKENZIE — Local racing legend Danny Jo Melton’s memorial service was adorned with a dragster and funny car displayed at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Melton, 73, were Friday, October 10, 2025, at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home. He was born in McKenzie in 1952.
He was a builder of top-of-the-line drag cars and engines. His work was sought by racers across the country.
