From the Dec 30, 2024 e-EditionMrs. Dorothy M. Ellis, 93, Yuma, Tennessee, died Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at Lifecare Center of Bruceton.
Funeral services are Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Simmons officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery.
The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home on Tuesday from 9:00 A.M. until time of the service.
Mrs. Ellis was born January 9, 1931, in Westport, Tennessee, to the late Bufford P. Horn and Lillie Mae (Seagraves) Horn. She retired from Gaines Furniture Manufacturing Company, where she worked as an inspector and was a Westport Missionary Baptist Church member. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Ellis Jr., two sons, Darrell Ellis and Mike Ellis, and a granddaughter, Angie Ellis.
She is survived by one son, David Ellis (Paula Miller) of New Johnsonville, and daughter-in-law, Joyce Ellis of Westport. She also leaves three grandchildren, Brandi Ellis, Amanda Lambdin (Phillip), Heather Hodge, six great-grandchildren, Katelynn Breeden (Chase), Makaliyah Hughes, Matthew Lambdin, Harper Hodge, Lilah Hodge, and Da’Leiyah Gilbert, and three great-great-grandchildren, Talon Breeden and Brysen Walker and Tatum Breeden
