Dresden Man Killed by Train in McKenzie
From the Jun 11, 2024 e-EditionMcKENZIE (June 8) — A Dresden man is dead after being struck by a train in McKenzie around 5:18 a.m. on June 8.
McKenzie Police Officer Timothy Dillon filed a report indicating Christopher Austin Tyler Jackson, 30, of Dresden was laying on the railroad track when he was struck by a train at the intersection of Hamilton Street.
Dillon, Investigator Beauchamp, Sergeant Jones, Patrolman Raspberry, McKenzie Fire/Rescue and EMS responded to the scene. The body was located about six train car lengths back from where the engine was able to stop. The TBI and CSX Railroad police were also requested to make the scene.
Jackson was indicted by the Weakley County Grand Jury in May on charges of Theft of Property.
McKenzie Police are requesting anyone with additional information to contact the department.
