Dresden Sweeps Gleason in Home-Away Set

GLEASON/DRESDEN (March 23-24) — Gleason High School faced Dresden Monday and Tuesday for a home-away set of district baseball games. Monday, in Gleason, the visiting Lions took a 15-1 win. Tuesday, in Dresden, the Lions claimed a 14-4 victory.

Dresden Lions 15, Gleason Bulldogs 1

In Monday's game in Gleason, the Lions struck first with a run in the top of the third, but the Bulldogs answered in kind in the home half. Dresden plated four in the fourth, then ten in the sixth.

Bulldog Ashton Morgan was 1-for-2 with a double, a walk and a run scored. Bryce Pettit was 1-for-2. Brody Sanders was 1-for-3.

Lion Landon Carter was 2-for-4 with a grand slam, a double, a walk, six RBIs and a run scored. Case Perry was 2-for-3 with a walk, an RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base. David Odle was 1-for-3 with a walk, three RBIs and two runs scored. Cooper Allman was 1-for-1 with a double, two walks, three runs scored and a stolen base. Daylan Davis was 1-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a stolen base. Luke DiPietro was 1-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored and a stolen base. Rylan Davis was 1-for-4 with a walk and a run scored. Parker Scott was 0-for-2 with two walks, an RBI and two runs scored. James Mount was 0-for-0 with a walk and an RBI.

Rylan Davis earned the win for Dresden, allowing one unearned run on three hits while walking none and striking out four in four innings. Luke DiPietro pitched an inning of relief, allowing no runs or hits while walking two and striking out one. Dawson Slone threw the final frame, allowing no runs, hits or walks and striking out one.

Bryce Pettit took the loss for Gleason, allowing 11 runs (nine earned) on eight hits while walking seven and striking out four in five and a third innings. Ty Keeling faced three batters, allowing three earned runs on three walks. Wylan Gustafson pitched a third of an inning, allowing one earned run on one hit and three walks. Jaxson Morgan faced the final batter, resulting in a strikeout.

Lions 14, Bulldogs 4

Gleason struck first in Tuesday's game with a run in the top of the first, but Dresden pulled ahead with four in the home half and another three in the second. The Bulldogs plated three in the top of the third, and the Lions answered with seven in the bottom half.

Bulldog Trey Mayo was 1-for-1 with two walks and an RBI. Bryce Pettit was 0-for-0 with a walk and an RBI sacrifice fly. Parker Morgan was 0-for-0 with a walk and a run scored. Caleb Jones was 0-for-2 with a walk and a run scored. Ashton Morgan was 0-for-2 with a run scored and a stolen base. Drake Lehmkuhl was 0-for-2 with a run scored. Brody Sanders was 0-for-3 with an RBI.

Lion Luke DiPietro was 2-for-2 with two walks, two RBIs and three runs scored. Daylan Davis was 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, two RBIs and two runs scored. Rylan Davis was 1-for-2 with a double, two walks, an RBI and three runs scored. Case Perry was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, two runs scored and a stolen base. David Odle was 1-for-1 with a walk, a sacrifice fly and an RBI. Landon Carter was 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored. Donald Novotny was 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Cooper Allman was 0-for-1 with a walk and a run scored. Parker Scott was 0-for-2 with a walk and a run scored.

Landon Carter got the start for Dresden, allowing four runs (three earned) with no hits and three walks while striking out four in two innings. Dawson Slone earned the win in relief, allowing no runs on one hit with no walks and one strikeout in two innings. Nathan Taylor pitched the final frame, allowing no runs or hits with two walks.

Parker Morgan took the loss for Gleason, allowing four runs (three earned) on two hits while walking four and striking out two in one inning. Ashton Morgan pitched three innings of relief, allowing ten runs (eight earned) on seven hits while walking five and striking out six.
