McKENZIE, Tenn. — Funeral services for Dwayne Delaney are on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at McKenzie Church of Christ at 11: a.m. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the service time. Interment will follow at Mt Olivet Cemetery.
Mr. Delaney, 86, died on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Murray Calloway Hospital. He was a longtime member and deacon of McKenzie Church of Christ and served in the National Guard.
Born in McKenzie on October 26, 1939, he was the son of James and Laura Townes Delaney. His career included service with the LN&N Railroad, later acquired by CSX Railroad, from which he retired. He also worked as a salesman for Winkle Hardware in McKenzie.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma Kelley Delaney, two sons, Steve (Danette) Delaney of Paris and Randy (Terri) Delaney of McKenzie, a sister, Nell Chandler of McKenzie, a brother, Bobby (Monya) Delaney of Gilbertsville, Kentucky four grandchildren, Whitney (Wesley) Tucker, Haley (Josh) Clark, Ashley (Sam) Savage and Morgan (Matt) Foster and eight great grandchildren Carter Tucker, Brooks Tucker, Waverley Tucker, Eli Clark, Myles Clark, Nora Foster, Hallie Foster and Bailey Savage.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ann Moore.
