Elizabeth C. Smith

Mrs. Smith, 92 years old, died at Cherrywood Post Acute (AHC of McKenzie) on Monday, June 23, 2025. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church; she retired from Peggy’s Fashions as a retail sales clerk. Previously, she had worked at Wilker Brothers - The Pajama Factory, and Brown Shoe Company. She was born in Dresden, Tenn. on January 6, 1933, to James Thomas Carter and Jacksie Mae Ward Carter.

She is survived by her daughter Donna Kay Crossno of McKenzie, two granddaughters, Denise (Alan) Pyburn and Delilah Crossno, and three great-grandchildren, Mason, Ethan, and Olivia.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe C. Smith and her siblings, Ruth Ward, Laura Priest, Dorothy Carter, Paul Carter, and George Carter.
