Entering Final Days to Qualify for November Municipal Elections
CARROLL COUNTY (August 14) — Municipal seats in Atwood, Bruceton, Hollow Rock, McKenzie, McLemoresville and Trezevant are up for grabs come November, as yet another election looms ahead in Carroll County.
Potential candidates have until noon on Thursday, August 20 to turn in their signed petitions and qualify to be on the November 3 ballot.
Also on the November 3 ballot is the battle for Tennessee Governor.
The Carroll County Election Commission released an ongoing list of petitioners for the November election on August 14 at 7:47 a.m.
Municipal seats on the November 3 ballot are as follows:
Atwood
Mayor: T.J. Herndon has picked up a petition for the seat. Incumbent Fridie Algee has not yet picked up a petition.
Two alderman positions: Dustin Church and Joann Long have qualified to run, and Tommy Polinski has picked up a petition. Incumbents Jim Lewis and Randy D. Long have not picked up petitions.
Bruceton
Mayor: Brad Hurley and Johnathan Pierpoint have qualified to run. Incumbent Robert T. Keeton, III, picked up a petition but has yet to file.
Two alderman positions: Robert Cole has qualified to run. Thomas Ashley Ingram, Jason D. McCord, Michael B Wilson and incumbent Jack R. Blocker have picked up petitions. Incumbent James A. Butler has not.
Hollow Rock
Mayor (two-year unexpired): Misty White has qualified to run. Incumbent Ronnie Webb has picked up a petition.
Two alderman positions: James Robison and newcomer Bobby Brotherton have qualified to run. Incumbent Angela Stockdale has picked up a petition, as have newcomers Sherry Ozier and Misty Dawn White. Incumbent T. Richard Goodwin has not yet picked up a petition.
Alderman (two-year unexpired): Incumbent Cathie Pardue and newcomer Thomas Ashley Ingram have qualified to run.
Huntingdon
Three council member positions: Incumbents John Sanders, Kelly Eubanks and Andrew Maddox have picked up petitions.
McKenzie
Mayor: Incumbent Ryan D. Griffin has qualified to run.
Three councilman positions: Incumbents Bobby L. Young and Tom Alexander have qualified to run, as has former councilman Raymond Glisson. Incumbent Carol Armpriest and newcomer Armand J. Hebert have picked up petitions to run.
McLemoresville
Mayor: Incumbent Phil Williams and newcomer Austin Prater have qualified to run. Nathan Worrell has picked up a petition to run.
Five alderman positions: Incumbents Sharron Holland and Kim Wheeler and newcomer Robby Alford have qualified to run. Incumbents Mike Presson and Lana Y. Suite and newcomer Adam Martin have picked up petitions to run. Incumbents Don T. Reed and Angie Martin have not picked up petitions.
Trezevant
Three alderman positions: Incumbent Dan Dieringer has qualified to run. Fellow incumbents Donald M. Barger and Pamela D. Joyner have picked up petitions to run, as have Beth Anne Farrell and Liz Yohman.
Kirk D. Carter also qualified in March as an independent candidate for the Tennessee House of Representatives District 79 seat. Representative Brock Martin (R-Huntingdon) currently holds this position.
