ESCAPED INMATE: Gerald Pete Samples escaped from Crockett County Jail, BOLO in Gibson County

ALAMO, Tenn. (March 25, 2026) — Gerald Pete Samples, a 59-year-old white male, escaped from Crockett County Jail this morning in Alamo. The manhunt is currently focused in Gibson County.
Samples was being held on a Circuit Court violation since August 9, 2025. He has a prior history of escape in 2020, and is considered a career criminal.
Samples is 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighs approximately 207 pounds, and was last seen wearing a brown shirt and brown pants.
If you see Samples or have information about his whereabouts, please call 911 immediately.
The circumstances surrounding the escape are still under investigation, including whether or not he had accomplices.
Catching Samples is a top priority for Crockett County Sheriff’s Office.
The Crockett County Sheriff’s Office thanks the public for their vigilance and assistance in bringing this individual back into custody.
