From the Oct 28, 2025 e-EditionMcKENZIE, Tenn. — Funeral services for Evelyn Coleman are Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at First Baptist Church McKenzie at 11 a.m.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the funeral home 5 - 7 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday, 10 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Enon Cemetery.
Mrs. Coleman, 90 years old, died on October 20, 2025, at Lakeside Senior Living. She was a hairdresser, a homemaker, and a member of First Baptist Church in McKenzie. She was born in Milan on November 9, 1934, to Clarence and Mary Bell Kirk Tate.
She is survived by her husband, Ted Coleman of McKenzie, a daughter, Sharon (David) Schwab of Chattanooga, Tenn., two sons, Bruce (Patti) Coleman of Big Sandy and Dale (Gaye Lynn) Coleman of McKenzie, a brother, Jesse (Carolyn) Tate of Brentwood, eight grandchildren, Elizabeth (Ross) Brodie, Sarah (Jason) Edwards, Hannah (Wes) Freeman, Abigale (Matt) Dodrill, Rebekah (Travis) Wales, Jacob (Misti) Coleman, Dakota(Lizzie) Dunn and Julian Dunn and 15 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Virgil Tate and James Tate.
