McKENZIE, Tenn. — Funeral services for Evelyn Harrison Gilliam are Sunday, July 26, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Brummitt McKenzie Funeral Home. Interment is at Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery, McKenzie, Tenn. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 5 - 8 p.m and Sunday, 11 a.m. until service time.
Mrs. Gilliam, 88, died at Baptist Memorial Hospital Carroll Co. on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.
She was a seamstress for H.I.S. Gleason, a homemaker, and a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Born on March 20, 1938, in Henry County, Tenn. to Ardie and Eller Ray Rayburn Harrison.
She is survived by her children, Ray (Lisa) Gilliam of McKenzie, Carol Kyle of Huntingdon, and daughter-in-law, Janice Gilliam of McKenzie, sisters, Faye Cook, Wanda (Barry) Travis and Catherine (Junior) Gibson, all of McKenzie, a brother, Jerry Harrison of Clearwater, Florida, eight grandchildren, Jeremy Gilliam, Kayla (Richard) Holmes, April (Chris) Thomas, Kirk (Cera) Gilliam, Morgan (Joseph) Crocker, Bradley (Kayla) Fowler, Daniel (Jazzlyn) Parker and Jamie Kyle, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jerry Gilliam, son, Lynn Gilliam, son-in-law, Michael Kyle and two sisters, Ruth Toombs and Janice Harrison.
