FFA Plant Sales Set for McKenzie, West Carroll
From the Apr 1, 2025 e-EditionMcKENZIE (March 31) — Local Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapters are preparing for their annual plant sales, offering a wide selection of flowers, vegetables and hanging baskets just in time for spring planting.
McKenzie High School’s FFA plant sale opens Friday, April 11, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and continues Saturday, April 12, from 8 a.m. to noon. Beginning April 14, the greenhouse will be open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. until sold out. The sale features dozens of plant varieties, including vinca, coleus, geraniums, marigolds, sweet potato vines and dwarf sunflowers. Hanging baskets, succulents and mixed planters are also available. Cash or check are accepted.
West Carroll FFA will hold its sale Friday, April 19, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the greenhouse on Norris Robinson Loop, 760 Highway 77 in Atwood. More than 30 types of bedding plants will be offered, along with tomato and pepper starters, succulents, and large porch pots. Prices range from $3 for vegetable 4-packs to $30 for 14-inch fern baskets. A silent auction will conclude at 1 p.m., and food will be available on site.
Proceeds support student agriculture projects and greenhouse operations. Donations are welcomed at both locations.
