Fillies Advance to Championship, Clinch Sectional Appearance
From the May 13, 2025 e-EditionKINGSTON SPRINGS (May 12) — The Huntingdon Fillies traveled to Harpeth High School for a Region 6AA Softball Tournament semifinal Monday against Cheatham County. The Fillies defeated the Lady Cubs 6-4 to advance to the championship game and secure a sectional appearance.
Huntingdon struck quickly with four runs in the top of the first inning. Cheatham County scored a pair in the bottom of the second. Each team scored a run in the third, then were held scoreless for three frames before scoring a run each in the seventh.
Josey Stokes was 2-for-4 for the Fillies with two doubles, two RBIs and a run scored. Ellie Wilson went 2-for-3 with a double. Emalynn Maness was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Camden Sellers went 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. Karter Moore was 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.
Bailey Cary got the start for Huntingdon, allowing four runs (two earned) on ten hits while striking out one and walking three in six innings. Emalynn Maness pitched the final frame, allowing no runs on one hit with no walks.
