Fillies Advance to Title Game with Day Two Win

HUNTINGDON (December 29) — The Huntingdon High School Point Guard Coca-Cola Girls' Christmas Tournament continued Monday with Day Two games throughout the day. In the headliner, the host Fillies defeated Greenfield, 58-49, to advance to Tuesday's championship game.
All eight participating teams played again Tuesday to determine final rankings, from champion to eighth place.
Huntingdon Fillies 58, Greenfield Lady Yellowjackets 49
The Fillies jumped out to a 22-8 lead after the opening frame and were up 35-22 at the half. The Lady Yellowjackets rallied 16-9 in the third, but Huntingdon sealed the win with a 14-11 tilt in the fourth.
Huntingdon's Wylie Kee led all scorers with 25 points. Knox Bennett scored 15 with a three-pointer. Grier Bartholomew had eleven points, including a trio of threes. Ellie Wilson scored three points, and Millie Luther and Tatum Rich each had a pair.
Ella Porter led Greenfield with 23 points, including five three-pointers. Skylar Arnold scored 18, Rayanna Fisher had six points, and Adlee Sullivan had a pair.
McKenzie Lady Rebels 51, Dyer County Lady Choctaws 31
The Lady Choctaws had an 11-10 edge after the first frame, but the Lady Rebels stormed ahead in the second for a 26-13 lead at the half. Dyer County cut the deficit with a 14-12 advantage in the third, but McKenzie pulled away again with a 13-4 tilt in the fourth.
Lady Rebel Jaycee Stafford led all scorers with 27 points. Addyson Littleton scored a dozen with a trio of three-pointers. Braylin Auvenshine had five points with a three. Gracie Aird also hit a three, and Molly French and Madeline Gotshall each had a pair.
- Cogdill led Dyer County with eleven points, including a three. A. Pearson scored eight, and A. Parkin had six points. A. Tatum scored four, and A. Leedy had a pair.
Gibson County Lady Pioneers 76, Camden Lady Lions 36
The Lady Pioneers had a 20-7 lead after the opening frame, extended to 37-21 at the break. Gibson County further pulled away with a 23-10 advantage in the third and a 16-5 tilt in the fourth.
With the win, Gibson County advanced to Tuesday's title game.
Lady Pioneer Sania Reaves led all scorers with 28 points. Jada Hart scored 19 with a pair of threes, and Akira Riding had 12 with a trio of threes.
Kai Bachelor led Camden with 12 points, including a pair of three-pointers.
Union City Lady Tornados 62, Chester County Lady Eagles 38
The Lady Tornados blew out to a 16-4 lead after the first frame and led 33-18 at the half. Union City had a 15-3 advantage in the third, and Chester County cut the final deficit with a 17-14 edge in the fourth.
Union City's S. Moss led all scorers with 19 points, including a pair of three-pointers. B. McKinnis had 13 points with a three.
- Osburn and K. Taylor led the Lady Eagles with eleven points each, Osburn with a three-pointer.
