Fillies are District 12A Runner-Up

MARTIN (October 10) - The Huntingdon High School Fillies traveled Thursday to face Westview in the District 12A Soccer Championship. The host Lady Chargers were in control throughout and scored often for a 9-0 win to claim the title. Both teams advance to the Region 6A Tournament.

Fillies goalkeeper Maddie Brinkman recorded 17 saves in the contest.

The region tournament begins Tuesday, October 15 with an elimination semifinal. The champion Lady Chargers host Harpeth, while Huntingdon travels to Ashland City to face Cheatham County.

Following the championship game, District 12A Soccer awards were presented.

The District 12A Soccer All-District Team includes Huntingdon's Abbi Sykes (Offensive Player of the Year), Juli Harris, Paisley Fosnot and Kailey Lord; McKenzie's Rachel Essary and Allie Walker; Westview's Coach Brandy Spendlove (Coach of the Year), Tess Anderson (Defensive Player of the Year), Maddie Horton, Ashlee Brent, Cambry Hatler and Kaydence Papich; and South Fulton's Reagan Johnson (MVP) and Callie Tucker.

The District 12A Soccer All-Tournament Team includes Huntingdon's Savannah Vinson, Emily Sykes, Abbi Sykes and Macie Grice; McKenzie's Bella Sass and Kortnee Brown; Westview's Chandler Spendlove, Harper Jones, Alyssa Williams, Brea McGuffin and Hayden Markowski (MVP); and South Fulton's Reagan Johnson and Lily Nabors.

The District 12A Soccer All-Academic Team (seniors maintaining a 3.0 GPA) includes Huntingdon's Juli Harris, Annisyn Moore and Kailey Lord; McKenzie's Allie Walker, Rachel Essary, Hannah Lee, Laken Fisher and Kortnee Brown; Westview's Gryphon Rowland and Hayden Swaim; and South Fulton's Chloe Lilicker, Reagan Johnson and Anna Kate Lawrence.
