Fillies are Runner-Up with Loss to Camden
From the May 20, 2025 e-EditionCAMDEN (May 14) — The Huntingdon Fillies are the runner-up of the Region 6AA Softball Tournament after an 11-4 loss to Camden Wednesday. The loss sent the Fillies on the road for a sectional against Forrest with a state tournament bid on the line.
Huntingdon struck first with a pair of runs in the top of the first, but Camden tied it in the home half and pulled away with five runs in the second. After three scoreless frames, the Fillies plated two in the top of the sixth, but the Lady Lions added four in the home half.
Josey Stokes was 2-for-4 for the Fillies with a double, an RBI and a run scored. Camden Sellers went 2-for-3 with a walk. Aubrey Castleman was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Karter Moore went 1-for-3 with a run scored. Delaney Byars was 1-for-4 with a run scored. Ellie Wilson was 1-for-3.
Emalynn Maness got the start for Huntingdon, allowing five runs (two earned) on three hits with no walks in one inning. Bailey Cary pitched five innings of relief, allowing six earned runs on seven hits while striking out two and walking one.
