Fillies Charge Back to Defeat Milan, 7-3

HUNTINGDON (April 14) — Huntingdon High School softball hosted Milan Tuesday for a district contest. The visiting Lady Bulldogs took an early 3-0 lead, but the Fillies stormed back in the final innings to claim a 7-3 victory.

Milan scored a pair of runs in the top of the first, then added a run in the third. Huntingdon exploded for five runs in the fifth to take the lead, then added two in the sixth.

Filly Camdyn Sellers was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a stolen base. Grier Bartholomew was 1-for-2 with a double, a walk and two runs scored. Gracey Martin was 1-for-3 with a stolen base. Kylie Tippitt was 1-for-4 with a run scored. Emalynn Maness was 0-for-1 with a run scored. Ellie Wilson was 0-for-4 with an RBI. Millie Luther was 0-for-2 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base. Aubry Castleman was 0-for-3 with a run scored.

Lady Bulldog Mia Pearson was 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. Hailey Williamson was 2-for-4 with a stolen base. Rylee Hensley was 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Camryn Green was 1-for-3 with an RBI and a sacrifice fly. Maycee Masters was 1-for-4 with a run scored. Lizzie Hayes was 1-for-3.

Marcie Mitchell earned the complete-game win for Huntingdon, allowing three runs (two earned) on nine hits while walking none and striking out three.

Camryn Green took the loss for Milan, allowing seven runs (two earned) on five hits while walking one and striking out three in five innings. Mia Pearson pitched the final frame, allowing no runs, hits or walks with one strikeout.
