Fillies Claim Championship over Gibson County

HUNTINGDON (December 30) — The Huntingdon Fillies are the champions of the Huntingdon High School Point Guard Coca-Cola Girls' Christmas Tournament after a gritty, 49-35 win over Gibson County Tuesday evening, capping a full day of games determining final tournament placement.
Championship: Huntingdon Fillies 49, Gibson County Lady Pioneers 35
The Fillies had a 12-7 lead after the opening frame and led 29-16 at the half. Huntingdon had a 9-6 edge in the third, and Gibson County cut the final deficit with a 13-11 tilt in the fourth.
Lady Pioneer Sania Reaves led all scorers with 21 points. Kaitlyn Patterson scored six with a three-pointer. Jazmin Bailey had five points, also with a three. Jada Hart had a pair, and Raven Wells hit a free throw.
Knox Bennett led the Fillies with 18 points, including a three-pointer. Wylie Kee scored 14, also with a three. Ellie Wilson had six points, Millie Luther scored five and Grier Bartholomew had four, all three players with a three-pointer. Tatum Rich had a pair.
Third Place: Greenfield Lady Yellowjackets 55, Camden Lady Lions 31
The Lady Yellowjackets jumped out to a 25-5 lead after the first frame and led 40-10 at the half. They had a 15-11 edge in the third, and Camden blanked Greenfield 10-0 in the fourth to cut the final deficit.
Greenfield's Ella Porter led all scorers with 20 points. Rayanna Fisher scored 18 with a pair of threes.
Adrianna Warren led the Lady Lions with 13 points.
Fifth Place: Union City Lady Tornados 59, McKenzie Lady Rebels 26
The Lady Tornados had an 8-5 edge after the opening frame and pulled away to a 30-8 advantage at the half. Union City enjoyed a 23-14 tilt in the third and capped the win with a 6-4 edge in the fourth.
Union City's B. McKinnis led all scorers with 13 points, including a trio of three-pointers. S. Moss scored ten. A. McMillan had eight points with a pair of threes. A. Lavner, L. Gordon and L. Gordon each scored seven, each with a three. A. Sadler had three points, and M. Steward and E. Denman each had a pair.
Jaycee Stafford led McKenzie with ten points. Addyson Littleton scored nine on a trio of threes. Aurora Johnson had three points, and Zayda Scates and Braylin Auvenshine each had a pair.
Seventh Place: Dyer County Lady Choctaws 60, Chester County Lady Eagles 48
Dyer County stormed out to a 19-7 lead after the first frame and led 29-19 at the half. Chester County cut the deficit with an 18-14 advantage in the third, but the Lady Choctaws sealed the win with a 17-11 tilt in the fourth.
Lady Choctaw Julie Cogdill led all scorers with 15 points, including a three.
Kloe Taylor led the Lady Eagles with 14 points.
