District 12AA Softball Tournament
Fillies Edge Milan in Opener, 2-1

CAMDEN (May 1) — The Huntingdon High School Fillies opened the District 12AA Softball Tournament, hosted by Camden Central High School, with a thrilling, 2-1 win over the Milan Lady Bulldogs.
The Fillies struck first with a run in the top of the second and added another in the fourth. Milan’s lone run came in the bottom of the fifth.
Huntingdon’s Grier Bartholomew was 1-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and a stolen base. Camdyn Sellers was 1-for-3 with a double. Kylie Tippitt was 2-for-4. Millie Luther was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Aubry Castleman was 1-for-4.
Lady Bulldog Grace Webb was 1-for-1. Maycee Masters was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Saide Chartrand was 1-for-3 with a run scored. Hailey Williamson was 1-for-3. Brylee Burrow was 0-for-2 with a walk.
Marcie Mitchell earned the complete-game win for the Fillies, allowing one earned run on four hits while walking one and striking out three.
Camryn Green took the loss for Milan, allowing two unearned runs on five hits while walking none and striking out two in four innings. Mia Pearson pitched the final three frames, allowing no runs on one hit with no walks and four strikeouts.
