Fillies End Season with First-Round Loss

SUMMERTOWN (October 13) — The Huntingdon Fillies concluded a stellar volleyball season with a loss Monday to Loretto in the first round of the Region 6A Volleyball Tournament. It was the Fillies' first loss of the year (20-1).

Loretto won in straight sets, but the Fillies were competitive in all three (25-18, 25-22 and 25-19).

Huntingdon's Millie Singleton had seven kills, an assist and four blocks. Taylor Canovan had 15 assists, two blocks and four digs. Sunny Carter had five kills and one assist. Cruz Perez had four kills, three aces and a dig. Wylie Kee had three kills.

Knox Bennett had 12 digs. Ellie Wilson had a kill, an assist and two blocks. Kylie Tippitt and Grier Bartholomew each had four digs.

Region awards have not yet been announced, but following their District Championship win the previous week, Fillies Millie Singleton, Sunny Carter, Knox Bennett and Ellie Wilson were named to the All-District team. Taylor Canovan was named District MVP.
