Fillies Top Lady Rebels in District Battle

McKENZIE (September 17) — McKenzie High School hosted Huntingdon Tuesday for a District 12A soccer match. The Fillies scored three goals in each half to claim a 6-1 victory.
Huntingdon’s Abbi Sykes had a hat trick (three goals) and had one assist. Kailey Lord scored a pair of goals. Savannah Vinson had one goal. Juli Harris had two assists, and Paisley Forsnot had one.
Fillies goalkeeper Maddie Brinkman had eight saves.
Lady Rebel Addyson Littleton scored McKenzie’s goal.
McKenzie goalkeeper Rachel Essary had seven saves.
The loss completes the Lady Rebels’ district slate. They are 5-3-1 (1-2 in D-12A). The team travels to Adamsville Thursday for a 6 p.m. start. McKenzie concludes the regular season Monday, September 30, hosting Scotts Hill at 5:45 p.m.
Huntingdon moves to 6-2 (2-0 in D-12A) with one district contest remaining. The Fillies host Westview (D-12A) Tuesday at 6 p.m. and conclude the season Thursday, hosting Milan at 6 p.m.
