Fillies Trample Lady Tigers, 11-4
From the Apr 14, 2026 e-EditionWAVERLY (April 7) — The Huntingdon High School Fillies traveled to Waverly Central Tuesday for a district softball contest. An early lead and a big sixth inning sealed an 11-4 win for the Fillies.
Huntingdon set the tone with two runs in the top of the first frame, then added two more in the second. Waverly got on the board with a run in the bottom of the fourth. The Fillies plated one in the fifth, then erupted for five in the top of the sixth. The Lady Tigers managed three in the home half. Huntingdon tacked on a run in the seventh.
Huntingdon's Camdyn Sellers was 2-for-5 with a home run, three RBIs and a run scored. Knox Bennett was 2-for-4 with two doubles, a walk, an RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base. Kylie Tippitt was 3-for-5 with two RBIs. Gracey Martin was 2-for-3 with a walk, an RBI, two runs scored and three stolen bases. Emalynn Maness was 1-for-3 with a sacrifice fly, two RBIs and a run scored. Millie Luther was 1-for-5 with a double and two runs scored. Aubry Castleman was 1-for-4 with a walk, an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base. Ellie Wilson was 1-for-4 with a walk and a run scored. Grier Bartholomew was 0-for-1 with three walks, a run scored and a stolen base.
Lady Tiger Abigail White was 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored. Carley McKlemurry was 1-for-4 with two runs scored and a stolen base. Marley Bissinger was 1-for-3 with an RBI. McKenzie Elmore and Major Daniels were each 1-for-3.
Marcie Mitchell earned the complete-game victory for the Fillies, allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits while walking two and striking out three.
Ashton Cash took the loss for Waverly, allowing four runs (two earned) on five hits while walking one and striking out one in an inning and a third. McKenzie Elmore pitched five and two-thirds innings of relief, allowing seven runs (two earned) on eight hits while walking six and striking out four.
