Finas Ray Wilson, 1945 – 2026
From the Mar 31, 2026 e-EditionMANSFIELD, Tenn. — Finas Ray Wilson, 80, of Mansfield, Tenn., died on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at West Tennessee Healthcare-West Tennessee Hospital.
Finas was born in Carroll County, Tenn., on July 11, 1945, to the late Clyde Wilson, and the late Mairine Arrington Wilson.
On October 8, 1965, he married Sarah Parrish Wilson, who survives of Mansfield, Tenn.
Finas served as a deacon at Spring Hill Baptist Church for more than 30 years. After moving from Carroll County to Henry County in 1952, he began working with his father on their family farm, where they grew row crops and raised dairy cattle and hogs. In 1990, he partnered with his son, David, to establish Wilson Farms and Wilson Dirt Excavation, both of which continue to be a family operation today.
He was an avid supporter of Henry County Athletics and the University of Tennessee Basketball program. He was a die-hard turkey, deer, and duck hunter. Finas loved all animals and took pride in helping his children and grandchildren prepare to show animals in the Henry County Fair over the years. He found great joy in spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Finas is survived by two sons, David (Cindy) Wilson and Dennis (Becky) Wilson, both of VanDyke; sister, Sue (Jim) LaFreniere of Cottage Grove, TN; five grandchildren, Ty Wilson, Ben (Morgan) Wilson, Jake (Hannah) Wilson, Brooke Blankenship, and Easton Blankenship; and five great-grandchildren, Owen Wilson, Willa Jean Wilson, Cooper Wilson, Etta Wilson, and Clyde Wilson.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia (Fred) Allen; and one brother, James Wilson.
Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN, 38242, is handling the arrangements. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 30, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and continue Tuesday, March 31, 2026, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. on March 31, 2026, at Ridgeway Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Bevil Cemetery with Ty Wilson, Ben Wilson, Jake Wilson, Easton Blankenship, Tim McCraw, and Shane Garner serving as pallbearers.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Spring Hill Baptist Church.
