From the Mar 3, 2026 e-EditionWESTPORT — Mrs. Frances Reed, 91, of Westport, Tennessee, died Friday, February 27, 2026, at her residence.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Tuesday, March 3, 2026 in the Chapel of Dilday-Carter Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Barr Springs Cemetery. Brother Robert Simmons officiating.
The family will receive friends Monday, March 2, 2026, at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at 1:00 PM.
Frances was born April 28, 1934, in Rock Springs, Tennessee, to the late Joseph Simpson Douglas and Mae Bell Douglas. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Junior Reed; her daughter, Andrea Gail Edwards; two sisters, Daltha Miller and Myrtle Douglas; two brothers, Joe Herman Douglas and Charles Douglas.
She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Ann Stewart of McKenzie, Tennessee; one son, Eugene (Mary Ann) Boyd of Westport, Tennessee; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.
