Free Performance of Peter Pan Jr. Set for Friday, July 11 at The Dixie

HUNTINGDON — Fly away to Neverland this summer! The Dixie Carter PAC invites the community to experience the magic of Peter Pan Jr. on Friday, July 11 at 6 p.m. Performed by local rising stars from Kindergarten through 8th grade, this enchanting musical will be held on the Hal Holbrook Stage at The Dixie. Admission is free and seating is first come, first served.

Directed by instructor Cari Dill, this performance is based on a one-week performing arts camp intensive. During this camp, students learn vocal techniques, character development, stage choreography, and the importance of teamwork. Over the course of just five days, they will prepare to bring Neverland to life for one unforgettable night.

Based on J.M. Barrie's classic tale and adapted for young performers, Peter Pan Jr. features timeless songs like "I’m Flying," "I Won’t Grow Up," and "Never Never Land" — all wrapped in a heartwarming story of childhood wonder, daring pirates, and the magic of believing.

“This show is a celebration of imagination and growth — perfect for the child in all of us,” said Dill. “Our young performers are excited to bring these iconic characters to life and can’t wait to share the magic with our community.”

Placement auditions for enrolled campers were held on May 17, with every student receiving a role. Students interested in speaking or singing parts prepared a capella songs and cold readings from the script.
