McKENZIE, Tenn. — Funeral services for George E. Howton are on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 23, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Interment is at TN State Veterans Cemetery, Parkers Crossroads.
Mr. Howton, 80, died Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Tri-Star Centennial Medical Center. He served over 32 years in the United States Army and Army Reserve. He was a retired master sergeant. He was born on July 16, 1946, to the late DY and Mary Howton.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Linda Allen Howton; a daughter, Erin Howton – Angel (Jonathan Angel) of Allardt, TN; a son, Eric Howton (Allison Puff) of Grosse Pointe, MI; and two grandchildren, Emma Angel and Jacob Angel (Arissa), all of Cookeville.
