From the May 12, 2026 e-EditionBRUCETON, Tenn. — Gerald Clayton “Clay” Arnold, 65, of Bruceton, died Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at his home.
Clay worked many years alongside his father at a local grocery business. Clay was born in Gibson County, Tennessee, on January 28, 1961. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, TD and Mattie Arnold of Gibson County, Tennessee, and Joe and Sallie Bailey Barnes of Crockett County, Tennessee. Parents Gerald and Sandra Barnes Arnold of Carroll County, Tennessee, and late sister, Regina Luther.
Clay is survived by his sister, Amanda Arnold Simonton; stepdaughter, Christy Dougherty; nieces and nephews, Rachael Gayle Luther, Chelsey Lane McMackin, Lauren Cassandra Luther, Hannah Carol McMackin, Ryan Everett McMackin, and Gerald Lee ‘Bud’ Luther. Step niece Rachel Simonton. And great nieces and nephews, Carson Hicks, Carlie Hicks, Sebastian Dupree, Gabriellah Goodman, Will Goodman, Jayanna Hilliard, Maddox McMackin, Gavin McMackin, Scarlett McMackin, & Vivian Cotto. Also, a great nephew, Corey Layne Luther.
Funeral services were on Friday, May 8, in the Chapel of Bruceton Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Purcell officiating. Burial was in Prospect Cemetery.
