Gleason Dominates Fulton City in Doubleheader Sweep

GLEASON (March 24) — Gleason High School hosted Fulton City for a softball doubleheader Tuesday. Gleason was dominant in both contests, winning 19-0 and 16-1.

Game One: Gleason Lady Bulldogs 19, Fulton City Lady Bulldogs 0

Gleason scored 13 runs in the first frame and six in the second for the abbreviated shutout.

Ava Bennett was 3-for-3 with a walk, two RBIs, three runs scored and four stolen bases. Zoe Healy was 1-for-1 with a triple, four RBIs and two runs scored. Kadence Witherspoon was 1-for-1 with a walk, an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base. Kinley Baumgartel was 1-for-1 with two walks, an RBI, two runs scored and two stolen bases.

Emma Pettit was 1-for-1 with a walk and two RBIs. Haylye Roberts was 1-for-1 with an RBI and a run scored. Kristiana Addison was 0-for-1 with an RBI, three runs scored and three stolen bases. Karlie Wilson was 0-for-0 with a walk, an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base.

Olivia Scarbrough was 0-for-0 with two walks, an RBI and a run scored. Marley Crews was 0-for-0 with two walks, an RBI and two runs scored. Sophie Beasley was 0-for-0 with a walk, two runs scored and two stolen bases. Presley Scott was 0-for-0 with an RBI and a run scored.

Olivia Scarbrough earned the win for Gleason, allowing no runs, hits or walks while striking out three in one inning. Emma Pettit pitched the final two frames, allowing no runs or hits while walking one and striking out four.

Game Two: Gleason 16, Fulton City 1

Gleason scored five runs in the bottom of the first and eight in the second. Fulton City got on the board with a run in the top of the third, but Gleason responded with three in the home half to end the game.

Karlie Wilson was 3-for-3 with two doubles, a walk, an RBI, three runs scored and four stolen bases. Zoe Healy was 3-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and two runs scored. Marley Crews was 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, two RBIs, a run scored and a stolen base. Kadence Witherspoon was 1-for-2 with a walk, two RBIs, two runs scored and a stolen base.
