From the May 7, 2024 e-EditionHUNTINGDON, Tenn. - Mr. Gordon Ashby, 72, of Huntingdon, Tennessee, died Sunday, April 28, 2024.
Funeral services are at 1:00 PM Sunday, May 5, 2024, in the Chapel of Dilday-Carter Funeral Home. Interment will be at Veterans Cemetery at Parker’s Crossroads.
The family will receive friends at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home on Saturday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Sunday from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
Mr. Ashby was born January 3, 1952 to the late Charles Stewart Ashby and Ester Carnell Brock Ashby. He served 21 years in the United States Air Force and retired in 1992. He loved riding his motorcycle, helping his fellow veterans, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by three children Erica (Steven) Boone of Clarksville, Tennessee, Charlene “Charley” Swierk of Huntingdon, Tennessee, and Michelle A. Gallipoli McConnell of San Diego, California; grandchildren Eric King, Emily Kennedy, Lily Ashby, Jasmine Swierk, Donato Gallipoli and Peyton Gallipoli; great-granddaughters Ivy Jade and Harlee Joe King.
