Greenfield Prevails in District 14A Girls Tournament at Bethel University

McKENZIE (February 19, 21) — Greenfield Lady Yellowjackets and Dresden Lady Lions prevailed in their respective contests on Thursday, February 19, at Bethel University’s Crisp Arena and advanced to the championship round on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Bethel.
Greenfield claimed a 70 to 45 victory over Lake County during the 6 p.m. contest on Thursday, and Dresden claimed a 50-42 victory over Gleason’s Lady Bulldogs on Thursday.
Gleason met Lake County on Saturday, February 21, 6 p.m. in the consolation round.
In the Gleason-Dresden contest, Gleason scored 11, 4, 11, and 16 points in the respective quarters for a total of 42. Ahmyre Allen led Gleason’s scoring with 19 points. Hylan Leach had 8, Madi Dean had 8, Karlie Wilson had 6, and Kadence Witherspoon had 1.
Dresden was led by Jacie West with 12, followed by Jentri Mangiaracinia with 8, Elizabeth Jarred with 7, Molly Robinson with 7, Rylee Cousins with 6, and Irah Cianfarani and Hannah Hale with 2 each.
Greenfield had 70 points. Ella Porter tossed in 31, Rayanna Fisher had 14, Skylar Arnold had 12, Maddie Paschall had 8, Jerico Montgomery had 3, and Madelyn Coble had 2.
Lake County, with a limited team of six players, scored 45. Laken Chism scored 39, Destaney Mullins had 2, and Yharia Bolden had 4.
Gleason Lady Bulldogs placed fourth in the District 14-A tournaments at Bethel University on February 21 after a loss to Lake County 51-34.
Gleason was led by Hylan Leach with 16 points, Ahmyre Allen with 8, Kadence Witherspoon with 6, and Ava Bennett and Brylee Robertson each adding two points.
Lake County scored 51 points, mainly on the backs of two players - Destaney Mullins with 29 and Mariah Valentine with 15. Jordyn Burpo scored 4 and Yharia Bolden scored 3.
