Greenfield Sweeps McKenzie

McKENZIE (December 9) — McKenzie High School hosted Greenfield Tuesday for a pair of basketball contests. The Lady Yellowjackets pulled away early for a 72-46 win. The Yellowjackets found similar success, coasting to a 73-59 victory.
Greenfield Lady Yellowjackets 72, McKenzie Lady Rebels 46
The Lady Yellowjackets jumped out to a 20-9 lead after the opening frame, led by Rayanna Fisher with ten points, including a pair of three-pointers. Ella Porter had nine points with a three, and Skylar Arnold hit a free throw. Molly French scored six for McKenzie on a pair of threes, and Jaycee Stafford also hit a three-pointer.
The Lady Rebels had a 14-13 edge in the second quarter, led by Stafford with eight, including a three. French and Ava Hastings each hit a three-pointer. Fisher led Greenfield with seven points, including a pair of threes. Porter had six points. At the half, the Lady Yellowjackets led 33-23.
Greenfield pulled away again with a 22-12 advantage in the third. Fisher and Porter each scored eleven, each with a three. Stafford scored six for McKenzie, and French and Braylin Auvenshine each hit a three-pointer. Entering the final frame, Greenfield led 55-35.
The Lady Yellowjackets sealed the win with a 17-11 tilt in the fourth, led by Fisher with nine points on a trio of threes. Porter scored six, and Madelyn Coble had a pair. Hastings and Kynadie Brown each hit a three for the Lady Rebels, and Madelyn Gottshall also had three points. Stafford added a pair.
Lady Yellowjacket Rayanna Fisher led all scorers with 37 points, including eight three-pointers. Ella Porter scored 32 with a pair of threes.
Jaycee Stafford led McKenzie with 19 points, including a pair of threes. Molly French scored a dozen on four three-pointers.
Yellowjackets 73, Rebels 59
McKenzie had a 17-16 lead after the first frame, led by Nolan Fawcett with six points on a pair of threes. Kason Brown scored four, and Ethan Bradberry, Eli Vinson and Cooper Davidson each had a pair. Avery Brown hit a free throw. Cruze Porter led Greenfield with eight points, including a three-pointer. Anthony Green and Easton Sullivan each scored four.
The Yellowjackets took the lead with a 20-11 advantage in the second quarter, led by Porter and Baker Biggs with five points each, Biggs with a three-pointer. Terrick McMullen scored four, and Sullivan, Westin Porter and Knox Liggett each had a pair. K. Brown led the Rebels with five points. Vinson scored four, and Cole Brown had a pair. At the half, the Yellowjackets led 36-28.
Greenfield had a 19-18 edge in the third, led by Biggs and Nick Brown with five points each, Brown with a three. Green scored four, W. Porter had three points, and C. Porter added a pair. A. Brown led McKenzie with six points on a pair of threes. Fawcett scored five with a three. Bradberry had four points, K. Brown added a pair, and Vinson hit a freebie. Heading into the final frame, Greenfield led 55-46.
The Yellowjackets capped the win with an 18-13 tilt in the fourth, led by Sullivan with six points. Biggs scored five, C. Porter had four points, and N. Brown hit a three-pointer. Fawcett led the Rebels with seven points, including a three. A. Brown scored six.
Yellowjacket Cruze Porter led all scorers with 19 points, including a three. Baker Biggs scored 15, also with a three. Easton Sullivan had 12 points.
Nolan Fawcett led McKenzie with 18 points, including four three-pointers. Avery Brown scored 13 with a pair of three, and Kason Brown had eleven points.
