Henry County Sweeps McKenzie

PARIS (December 19) — McKenzie High School traveled to Henry County High School Friday for a pair of basketball games. The Lady Patriots pulled away in the second half for a 57-41 win, and the Patriots walked away with a 109-49 win.

Henry County Lady Patriots 57, McKenzie Lady Rebels 41
The Lady Patriots ended the first quarter with a 21-14 lead. Lady Patriot Na’Kiyah Moore had five pairs, followed by Eva Eaton with two pairs. Olivia Kendall hit a three-point shot. Ali Taylor and Na’Laiyah Coats each had a pair. Lady Rebel Jaycee Stafford had three pairs and a free throw shot. Addyson Littleton had two pairs, and Molly French hit a three-point shot.

The Lady Patriots led after the second quarter, 35-22. Lady Patriot Eaton had two pairs. Coats and Kendall each hit a three-point shot. Moore and Taylor each had a pair. Lady Rebel Stafford had a pair and four free throws. Ava Hastings had a pair.

The Lady Patriots extended the lead to a 47-27 score in the third quarter. Lady Patriot Taylor hit four free throw shots. Moore, Eaton, Kendall and Breely Pierpoint each had a pair. Laby Rebel Stafford hit a three-point shot, and Grace Aird had a pair.

The Lady Patriots secured the win by a 57-41 score. Lady Patriot Coats had two pairs. Pierpoint hit a three-point shot. Taylor had a pair and a free throw shot. Lady Rebel Stafford had four pairs. Littleton and Kynadie Brown each hit a three-point shot.

Na’Kiyah Moore led the Lady Patriots with 14 points, and Ali Taylor had 11 points. Na’Laiyah Coats followed with 9 points.

Jaycee Stafford led the Lady Rebels in scoring with 24 points. Addydson Littleton scored 7 points.

The Patriots ended the first quarter with a lead of 29-12, led by Zach Wilson with two pairs and a three-point shot. Carson Card had four pairs. Tristin Grgic had two pairs and three free throw shots. Luke Stephens had two pairs. Aden Jackson had a pair, and Drew Pack hit a free throw shot. Rebel Nolan Fawcett hit two three-point shots. Kason Brown had two pairs, and Eli Vinson had a pair.

The Patriots extended the lead to 55-32 at halftime. Patriot Jackson had a pair and a three-point shot. Wilson had a three and two free throw shots. Grgic had two pairs and a free throw shot. Jamari Foster had a three. Beard, Card, Stephens and Pack each scored a pair. Rebel Fawcett hit three three-pointers and a pair. Kason Brown had two pairs. The Patriots took the lead with a 84-44 score after the third quarter. Patriot Wilson scored three pairs and a three-point shot. Card hit a pair and a three-point shot, and Beard had two pairs. The Patriots scored even more in the fourth for the 104-49 win, led by Patriot Keyshawn Atkins with two three-point shots. Jackson had a pair and a three-point shot. Bryan Stephens hit a three-point shot, and Beard, Pack, and Kainon Deberry each scored a pair. Rebel Fawcett hit a three-point shot, and Ownby hit two free throw shots.

Zach Wilson led the Patriots with 21 points. Carson Card scored 15 points. Tristin Grgic had 14 points.

Nolan Fawcett led the Rebels with 20 points, and Kason Brown scored 13 points.
