TREZEVANT (June 18) — Beginning Wednesday, traffic on Highway 79 has shifted to a new alignment for a short stretch north of Trezevant as the bypass project progresses.

The new alignment is from near Cutlip Lane to the Connector Road leading into Trezevant.

Travelling south (from McKenzie), drivers divert from the old 79 lanes onto new lanes just before Cutlip, which lead to an all-way stop at the Connector Road. The short road meets the old 79 lanes near Oak Grove Road.

The speed limit along the new alignment is 35 miles per hour.

Big Buck Road reopened to through traffic on Tuesday.

New closures can be expected on Dorsey Road as weather permits utility realignment and road construction. Detours will be delineated by signage.
