From the Apr 14, 2026 e-Edition

The Huntingdon Historical Society meets Wednesday, April 15 at 9 a.m. in the conference room of Huntingdon City Hall to hear a presentation on Bruceton’s railroad from Anita Boyd.

Boyd is a 1947 graduate of Bruceton High School. She attended Bruceton’s grade school, now the location of LifeCare.

Boyd will discuss how the local railroad contributed to the Town of Bruceton’s growth.

Ten passenger trains once stopped in Bruceton daily, traveling on the local railroad Boyd’s grandfather helped build. Boyd has fond memories of riding the passenger trains with her grandmother.

Boyd moved to Camden in 1974 and has lived in Camden since that time.

Individuals are invited to attend and learn more about Carroll County’s history.
