From the Feb 10, 2026 e-EditionTheft of Merchandise — According to a report made on January 20, Sgt. Tony King responded to Walmart in Huntingdon in reference to shoplifters.
Upon arrival, store security had two female subjects detained in the security office. Security personnel advised that Briana R. Pugh and another woman were observed taking assorted merchandise through the self-checkout area without paying for the items.
The stolen merchandise included women’s underwear, with a total value of $30.53.
Both individuals were cited into Carroll County General Sessions Court and were issued a 10-day booking notice.
Leaving the Scene of an Accident — According to a report made on January 21, Sgt. Ethan Parham responded to East Main Street in Huntingdon regarding a vehicle that had struck a speed limit sign and left the scene. Upon arrival, officers observed the damaged sign lying off the roadway.
Witnesses reported that a red Ford Mustang ran off the roadway, struck the sign, and then left the scene traveling westbound. Officers later located a vehicle matching that description at a residence on 6th Avenue, Huntingdon. The vehicle displayed front-end damage consistent with the incident.
The registered owner, identified as Bert Hurlburt, stated that another vehicle pulled out in front of him, causing him to run off the roadway in an attempt to avoid a collision. Hurlburt was cited into Carroll County General Sessions Court for leaving the scene of an accident.
