From the May 21, 2024 e-Edition
HUNTINGDON (May 16) – The Huntingdon Special School District announces the launch of the Blue & Gold Network, representing a significant moment in the district's commitment to fostering student development and celebrating the achievements within the Huntingdon Special School District community.
The Blue & Gold Network represents a dynamic approach that will not only provide enhanced coverage for sports but also serve as a platform for spotlighting the many great stories and accomplishments throughout the Huntingdon Special School District.
In a partnership with media company Forever Communications, the Blue & Gold Network will bring football, basketball, and select spring sports contests to audiences via 104.7 FM. Furthermore, Forever Communications will offer enhanced video coverage featuring play-by-play with color commentary, instant replay, Fan Cam, school spotlight segments, and more. These games will be accessible on the NFHS Network, allowing viewers to catch every exciting moment.
A key component of this partnership is the educational opportunities it presents for Huntingdon students. Through hands-on involvement with the video stream production team, students will gain valuable experience in broadcast journalism, video production, and sports media management.
Huntingdon Special School District Director of Schools, Jonathan Kee, expressed enthusiasm for the launch of the Blue & Gold Network and the partnership with Forever Communications, stating, "The Blue and Gold Network is a game changer for those that love Huntingdon. We want to spotlight the many talents of our students and keep our fans connected to the great things happening in our school
system. We are excited about our partnership with Forever Communications because we know the quality with which they will produce, which will benefit our students, fans, local businesses, and anyone else who cherishes the Blue and Gold."
Sports coverage delivered by the Blue & Gold Network will begin with the upcoming Huntingdon Mustang Football season. The broadcast team will be led by the voice of Huntingdon sports, Brian Groom. The Blue & Gold Network will provide radio broadcasts plus video streams of home and away football & basketball contests.
The Huntingdon Special School District will continue to release updates regarding the Blue & Gold Network in the coming weeks. For more information on how to apply for the video stream team paid positions, please visit www.forevercom.com/huntingdon.
