Inglenook Book Club Notes
From the Feb 17, 2026 e-EditionMcKENZIE (February 11) — The Inglenook Book Club held its monthly meeting February 11 at 3 p.m. at Lakeside Senior Living Center in McKenzie.
President Gail Mack called the meeting to order, welcoming everyone. She thanked hostesses Victoria Ard and Carolyn Potts for graciously serving delicious assorted petite cakes, eclairs and beverages.
The Pledge of Allegiance, Club Aim and Motto were recited by all.
Sixteen ladies answered the roll call, followed by the reading of January minutes.
Treasurer Donna Ward gave the treasurers report; and both the minutes and treasurer’s report were approved as read.
Happy Birthday was sung by all to Myra Sasser who has a birthday this month.
Each committee chair gave their reports, with prayers extended to those members who are not feeling well.
Membership chair introduced our guest visitor Sherri Priestley.
Old business was shared by Geneva Johnson that the group of ladies who participated at the Carroll Arts Trivia Bowl took third place. It was a lot of fun.
No new business to discuss, so president Mack called on Genia Sherwood to present her program. She spoke to the group about storyteller Barbara Newhall Follett, child prodigy, and her mysterious disappearance.
Victoria Ard followed with book passing, with the next book passing date being February 25.
Personal hygiene products were donated to the schools that were collected at the meeting.
Announcement of the next meeting to be held on March 11 at 3:00 pm at Lakeside in McKenzie. Hostesses will be Shirley Martin and Elaine Williams. Program will be presented by Pedie Pedersen. Attendees were encouraged to bring donations of individual food snacks next month for the schools.
The Benediction was recited by all and the meeting adjourned.
