Inglenook Book Club Meets
From the Mar 17, 2026 e-EditionMcKENZIE — The Inglenook Book Club met on March 11 at 3 p.m. at Lakeside in McKenzie. The meeting was called to order by President Gail Mack, who welcomed everyone present. She thanked hostesses Donna Ward and herself for serving chicken salad sandwiches, granola bars, assorted nuts, and beverages. All recited the Pledge of Allegiance, Club Aim, and Motto. Happy Birthday was sung to our March birthday ladies - Jean McKinnie, Suzanne Howell, and Genia Sherwood. Thirteen ladies answered the roll call, followed by the reading of the February minutes. Donna Ward gave the Treasurer’s report. Both readings of the minutes and the Treasurer’s report were approved as read. Committee reports were given, prayers continued for some members, and cards were sent. Thank you to Jean for calling everyone about the meeting. The membership chair shared that we have a new member, Sherrie Priestley.
In old business, mention of the sign at the McKenzie Banking sign thanking us for our donations to the MES. There was no new business, so Pedie Pedersen presented her program on the children’s poem writer, and the writer of the “Morning Has Broken” original poem that Cat Stephen’s made into a world-known song, Eleanor Farjeon.
Book passing followed with the next book passing date being March 25. Many thanks for the individual food snacks donated today for the school. Next month, members are to bring assorted school supplies. Announcements were: next meeting on April 8 at 3 p.m. at Lakeside in McKenzie. Hostesses are Gail Mack and Donna Ward and the program is by Beverly Mueller. She will have a guest speaker as she will not be in attendance. The benediction was recited by all, and the meeting adjourned.
