Inglenook Book Club News
From the May 14, 2024 e-EditionThe Inglenook Book Club met for its monthly meeting on May 8 at 3 p.m. at Lakeside, with 19 members in attendance. President Gail Mack was absent so vice-president Shirley Martin called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance, club aim and club motto was recited by all. Thank you to hostesses Gayron Lyles and Beverly Mueller for the great cheese cracker assortment and grape salad along with assorted beverages that were served.
V. President Martin advised there were no May birthdays, so she called upon roll call and the reading of the April minutes. Minutes were approved as read. Treasurer Donna Ward gave treasurers report which was also approved by all. V. President Martin called for the committee chair reports from Sunshine, Membership, Publicity, and Telephone chairpersons. She thanked each chairperson for all they do for the club.
There was no unfinished business to discuss, and there was no new business to address.
V. President Martin called on Carolyn Moore to present her program. She filled in for Gayron Lyles who was absent. Carolyn presented her program on author Nina Prose. Prose has sold over 1 million copies in over 40 countries.
Book passing was completed by Book chair, Mary Newman, with the next book passing date of May 22. The announcement of the next meeting will be on June 12 at 3 p.m. at Lakeside, with hostesses Gail Mack and Donna Ward. Program to be presented by Beverly Mueller.
The Benediction was recited by all and the meeting adjourned.
