Inglenook Book Club News July Meeting
From the Jul 16, 2024 e-EditionInglenook Book Club held its monthly meeting at Lakeside Senior Community Living in McKenzie on Wednesday, July 10 with 18 members in attendance.
President Gail Mack called the meeting to order and thanked the hostesses for the delicious warm peach cobbler with ice cream, assorted nuts and beverages they served. The Pledge of Allegiance, Club Aim and Motto were recited by all. Victoria Ard and Shirley Martin were the birthday ladies for the month of July. Happy Birthday was sung by everyone.
The roll call and reading of June minutes was completed with the minutes being approved as read. Treasurer Donna Ward gave the Treasurer’s report, which was also approved as read.
President Mack called on the committee chairs to report, and there is a vacancy for a new member to join. If you have a name, get it to the membership chair. President Mack thanked the chair ladies for their participation and all they do for the club.
There was no unfinished business and no new business to report, and President Gail Mack called on Beverly Mueller to present the program, as Zia Locke was unable to be present. Her topic was “Librarians.”
Book passing was completed by book chair Mary Newman, and the next book passing date is July 24.
Announcement was made by Shirley Martin that Carroll Arts is sponsoring the Arts Exhibit along with music on July 20 beginning at 6:30 p.m. and music begins at 7 p.m. The event will be held at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in McKenzie.
The next meeting is August 14 at 3 p.m. at Lakeside. Hostesses are Mona Batchelor and Pedie Pedersen, and the program presentation will be by Mona Batchelor.
Remember to bring assorted individually-packaged food items for the school donations.
The benediction was recited by all, and the meeting adjourned.
