Inglenook Book Club Welcomes Local Author Jennifer Kee Glass
From the Apr 14, 2026 e-EditionMcKENZIE — The Inglenook Book Club convened for its monthly meeting on April 8 at the Lakeside Senior Living Community. The gathering, called to order by President Gail Mack, featured a special appearance by local author Jennifer Kee Glass.
The program, introduced by member Beverly Mueller, centered on Glass, who shared her background, experiences, and the journey to writing and publishing her book, "Little Miss McKenzie". Club members had the opportunity to purchase copies of the book and have them signed by the author.
Eighteen ladies attended the meeting. President Mack expressed gratitude to the hostesses, Donna Ward and herself, for providing delicious refreshments, including cheesecake, assorted mixed nuts, and beverages. The meeting began with the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance, Club Aim, and Motto, and a round of "Happy Birthday" was sung to April birthday honoree, Pedie Pedersen.
In club business, the March minutes were read and approved following the roll call. Treasurer Donna Ward presented her report, which was approved as read. Ward announced that a memorial will be given to the McKenzie Library in memory of Elaine Williams. Following committee reports, President Mack thanked the group for their efforts.
The club also welcomed Genia Sherwood as the new Sunshine Chair. She requested that members notify her when a card needs to be sent to someone who is ill. Book passing was completed, with the next date set for April 22.
The next Inglenook Book Club meeting is May 13 at 3 p.m. at Lakeside. Carolyn Moore and Mary Newman will serve as hostesses. Members are asked to bring individually wrapped assorted food items for school donations. The program will be presented by Shirley Martin, who stated she will speak about our country's 250th-year celebration.
