INSIDE: All the Way to STATE CHAMPS 2026
From the Mar 17, 2026 e-Edition
On Saturday, March 14, the Huntingdon High School Fillies basketball team made school history, winning the TSSAA Girls Basketball Division I Class 2A State Championship at Middle Tennessee State University’s Murphy Center.
Inside this edition of The Banner, you’ll find a special keepsake edition celebrating the Fillies’ historic journey to the Glass House and the gold ball — and the nailbiter games that kept us on the edge of our seats for four days straight.
The Huntingdon High School Fillies took down the Smith County Lady Owls, the Gatlinburg-Pittman Lady Highlanders and the York Institute Dragonettes to take the title. A large contingent of Blue and Gold faithful packed the Glass House, showing their support for the Fillies. As the Fillies made their way back home, they were welcomed to a proud hometown and wasted no time bringing the gold ball to its rightful home at their alma mater.
