From the Jul 22, 2025 e-EditionHOLLOW ROCK, TENN. - Mr. James Albert Simpson, 79, of Hollow Rock, died Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, July 21, 2025, at 12:00 P.M. noon at St. Mary’s Church with Father Herbert Ene officiating.
The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Sunday from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. with Rosary service beginning at 7:00 P.M.
Pallbearers who will serve are Brian Lomax, David Kee, Jim McGinness, Danny Joe Watwood, Joseph Garbringer, Adam Watwood, Neal Blank, Scott Kozak, Dwayne Pierce, and Dick Stokes.
Mr. Simpson was born June 19, 1946, in Searcy, Arkansas. He was a site supervisor and superintendent for Barger Construction Company. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and served in the Air Force stationed in Germany during the Vietnam Era. Above all else, he loved his faith, family, country, friends, and the Chicago Bears. He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Poole Prater, father, Arthur Watwood, and a sister Jeanette Kozak.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sandra Simpson, two daughters, Shannon McGinness (Jim) of Georgia, Amber Kee (David) of Jackson, a brother, Dan Watwood, of Huntingdon, as well as several nieces and nephews.
