GLEASON — Memorial services for Jan Cozart are Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Brummitt McKenzie Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Thursday, 12:30 p.m. until service time. Mr. David Johnson will officiate, and her cremains will be buried at another time

Mrs. Cozart, 75 years old, died at her home on Monday, June 29, 2026. Born on November 4, 1950, in Milan, TN to Harbert and Pauline Tucker Smith. She was a hairdresser for 45 years and a member of McKenzie Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband, Rick Cozart, her children, Mitzie (Eric) Berner and Todd (Andrea) Scarbrough, step-children Chris (Amanda) Cozart and Karen (Randy) Daily, three sisters, Gale Akins, Ella Ray Coleman and Judy Parish, two grandchildren, Fox Thomas Scarbrough and Poppy Caroline Scarbrough, thirteen step-grandchildren, Jacob, Joseph, Cloey, Lilly, Brady, Skylynn, Colton, Briggs, Brenly, Abby, Ashland, Anna and Jackson and several great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Madlyn Bolen and Ellen Wooley and brothers Merle Smith and Phillip Smith.

In Lieu of flowers the family has asked that you would consider making a donation to American Cancer Society or McKenzie Church of Christ.
