McKENZIE, Tenn. — Funeral services for Jeanette Bush Jones are on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Brummitt McKenzie Funeral Home at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends on Monday from 12 p.m. until the service time. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Mrs. Jones, 84, was born on March 9, 1942, in Paris, Tenn., to Virgil “Flossie” and Myrtle Toombs Bush. She was a devoted member of Grace Baptist Church and a proud graduate of Bethel College.
A dedicated educator, she began her teaching career in Cedar Grove and concluded a distinguished 33-year tenure with the McKenzie Special School District. She was honored by former students with recognition in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. Mrs. Jones and her husband established Jones Family Investments, a rental business they built alongside their sons and their families. Together, they later developed and operated the Carroll County Auction in McKenzie.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Terry W. Jones, two sons, Mike Jones (Renea Streb) of Martin, Kevin Jones (Melissa) of McKenzie, a brother, Virgil “Billy” Bush (Nancy) of McKenzie, four grandchildren, Nathan Jones, Ava Jones, Mathew Jones, and Logan Harvey and three great-grandchildren, Beckett Jones, Margo Jones and Briley Harvey.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, James Toombs.
