From the May 20, 2025 e-EditionMrs. Jewell Marie Grooms, 99, of Bruceton, Tennessee, died Friday, May 16, 2025, at Lifecare Center of Bruceton.
Funeral services are in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at 2:30 PM with Bro. Jimmy Horton officiating. Burial will follow in Hebron Cemetery.
The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home on Sunday from noon until time of service.
Mrs. Grooms was born November 6, 1925, in Rosser, Tennessee, to the late Joseph David Cole and Eva Marion (Murphy) Cole. She was a housewife and homemaker. She married Gordon Browning “Brownie” Grooms on December 29, 1945, who preceded her in death. She was a member of New Cross Roads Missionary Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by four sisters: Edna Hudson, Opal Lewis, Robbie Williams, and Bessie Clark.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Davis (Bobby) of Jackson and Brenda Gregg (Frank) of Huntingdon; two granddaughters, Kristi Collins (Jimmy) of Jackson and Amy Smith (Chad) of Henderson; four great-grandchildren, Hunter Collins, Hannah Cotner (Christian), Lucas Smith, and Molly Smith; and a great-great-grandson due in November.
