From the Apr 23, 2024 e-EditionGLEASON, Tenn. - Services for Joan P. Black, age 89, of Gleason, Tenn. were Thursday April 18, 2024 at Williams Funeral Home of Gleason. Burial was in Hopewell Cemetery in Gleason. She was born May 6, 1934 and died April 16, 2024.
Mrs. Black is survived by her two daughters, Sandra Kay (Tim) Hicks and Becky (Eddie) Trevathan, both of Gleason. She is also survived by a sister, Linda Arford of Lansing, Michigan.
She leaves behind two grandchildren, Willie Trevathan and T.J. Hicks, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Black was preceded in death by two husbands, Joe White and Richard Dean Black, parents, Jewel and Naomi Phelps, and a sister, Doris Lane.
