From the Jul 23, 2024 e-EditionATWOOD, Tenn. - Funeral services for Joe Clifford Rainey, 78, of Atwood, are Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 12 p.m. at Bodkin Funeral Home-Milan with burial to follow in the Pisgah Cemetery in Atwood. Visitation with the family is Friday, 5 – 8 p.m. and on Saturday, 10 a.m. to noon. at the funeral home.
Joe was born on August 9, 1945 to Carl and Ruby Thomas Rainey in Henderson. He was a businessman and owned his own trucking/leasing company with Max Trans.
Joe is survived by his wife, Katherine Morris Rainey of Atwood, children, Michael Powell (Lori) of Trezevant and Jan Reynolds (Ronnie) of Greenfield, four grandchildren, Jennifer Goad, Shannon Goad, Ashley Powell and Christina Rainey, five great-grandchildren, Lillian Rainey, Maley Stevens, Jonathan Davidson, Bryer Montgomery and Sara Goad and one great-great-grandson, John Carroll Davison. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Ruby Rainey, a son, Joe Kidd Rainey, and four brothers, Kenneth Rainey, James Rainey, Ben Rainey, and Ike Rainey.
