Karen Fowler Announces for School Board
From the Aug 4, 2020 e-Edition
Registered voters of McKenzie Special School District in Carroll County, I, Karen Fowler, announce my candidacy for a seat on the McKenzie School Board. I am a lifelong resident of McKenzie and alumna of McKenzie schools. As the mother of two daughters, one of which is entering her eleventh year as a Kindergarten teacher, I have a heart for children as well as their education.
I am nana to five wonderful grandchildren and answer to “Nana” to others at my youngest daughter’s daycare.
I’m a member of First Baptist Church in McKenzie, where I have enjoyed teaching Kindergarten Sunday school for almost 20 years, as well as teaching Children’s church and Wednesday night Pre-K - Kindergarten.
I am past president of the McKenzie Girls Softball league, where I also coached for several years, and a current member of the Beta Sigma Phi Service Organization.
I have been with MSC Industrial Supply Co. for 25 years as a Senior Account Executive.
My desire to seek a position on the School Board stems from helping my daughter prepare her classroom for the upcoming school year each summer. While doing this I see, first hand, things that need to be improved. I see the dedication of our teachers who work tirelessly preparing to give their students the very best education. I’m a firm believer that strong schools make strong communities and, if elected, will do my very best to see that McKenzie has the strongest schools possible.
Your vote would be greatly appreciated !
Early voting begins July 17th- Aug. 1st. Election day is August 6th.
