From the Dec 30, 2024 e-EditionHENRY, Tenn. - Karen Klopfenstein, 82, of Henry died at her residence on Wednesday, December 25, 2024. Her funeral service is at noon on Saturday, December 28th, at McEvoy Funeral Home, with Rev. Tammy Blankenship of United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Palestine Cemetery.
Karen Klopfenstein was born April 13, 1942, in Cygnet, Ohio to the late Ferd and Vesta Burden Gross. On September 17, 1960, she married Marvin Klopfenstein, and he survives.
Karen was a dispatcher with the City of Paris, Henry Co. Sheriff’s Dept., Weakley Co. Sheriff’s Dept., and Murray State Campus Police. She was a member of Palestine UMC.
In addition to her husband, Karen is also survived by daughter Leah Klopfenstein of Henry; sons, Greg (Mary) Klopfenstein of McKenzie, Tenn., and Nathan Klopfenstein (Christi Snow) of Princeton, Kentucky; grandchildren, Chris (Nikki) Klopfenstein, Lexy Veliz, and Abigail (Blake) Garner; great-grandchildren: Chloe and Claire Veliz; Oscar & Oliver Garner; and Eva Kay Klopfenstein; sister-in-law, Georgia Gross of Arcanum, Ohio; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Besides her parents, Karen was also preceded in death by her sister, Mary Rotroff, and brother, Ronald Gross.
